Insured Group Limited seeks to ensure a sound corporate governance regime is in place across its operations in New Zealand and Australia.

Wayne Miller
Managing Director

Mr Miller is the founder of the group. Prior to this his other corporate experience was as co-founding executive director of Medepartner Ltd, where he was instrumental in raising seed and mezzanine capital, product development and implementation of an innovative “first to market” product. Medepartner Ltd achieved ASX listing through a reverse take over of Konekt Limited (ASX code: KKT).

Specifically he has 28 years’ experience in the insurance industry including executive positions for several major international insurance and insurance broking companies. Insurance company experience spanned from underwriting and claims practical experience culminating in senior national responsibilities for underwriting. Insurance broking and risk management experience included: development, design and implementation of risk management and insurance programs across a broad range of clients and industries; specialist corporate/mining insurance in Australia and internationally.

Now into ACIL’s 5th year Mr Miller has considerable experience in “start up” company development, acquisitions and management in the insurance industry sector.

Barry J Driscoll
Non-Executive Chairman

Mr Driscoll has been involved in the domestic and international banking and finance industry for over 40 years. He has significant experience in the establishment, marketing and development of financial services and products. This experience has afforded Mr Driscoll numerous relationships with top-tier US and Australian law firms, accounting firms, investment banks and stock broking firms. He has held key positions in a number of major institutions including Bank of New York Mellon where he managed the Australian and New Zealand operations of the banks depository receipts and corporate trust business. Other employers include Citibank, Hambros Ltd, Euro Pacific Ltd and Scandinavian Pacific Ltd. He holds a Diploma of accounting and is a graduate of the Mt Eliza business school and holds several professional memberships including the Finance and Treasury association and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Anne-Marie Syme
Director

Ms Syme has extensive corporate management and business development experience within the banking and finance sectors and currently works in Director and Executive capacities with several companies and organisations throughout Australia. These include Insurance, Liquor, Information Technology, Human Resources and business coaching industries.

Ms Syme is featured in two books - “Secrets of Inspiring Leaders Exposed” and “Leadership Revelations – An Australian Perspective”.

Recently, Ms Syme won an award for “Most Inspiring Woman of the Year – Business” (2009) and was presented this award by Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce – Governor General of Australia.

Daniel (Dan) O'Leary
Director

MA (Oxon)

Son of a British diplomat and a New Zealand mother, Mr O'Leary began his education at Forest School, Canberra, where his father was serving in the British High Commission at the time. He later attended schools in South Africa, New Zealand and the UK before proceeding to Oxford where he gained his Masters Degree. After a two-year stint in Tokyo working for a Japanese pharmaceutical company he joined P&OCL but in 1989 decided to become a barrister. He was admitted to the New Zealand Bar and has practised as a Barrister in Wellington, in the civil jurisdiction, for some 14 years. He has appeared in the Supreme Court of New Zealand.

Mr O'Leary is married to Nina, the daughter of Hon Hugh Templeton, the New Zealand Minister responsible, with Doug Anthony the former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, for negotiating the Closer Economic Relations (CER) Treaty between Australia and New Zealand, as a result of which the Governor-General of Australia has recently made his father in law a member of the Australian Order.

Mr O'Leary looks forward to participating in the continued development of Insured Group.

Jonathon Gilbert
Director

Mr Gilbert is a director of a Wellington based IT company which services both small and medium business in the provision of hardware & software network solutions. He has primarily worked in the IT industry for organisations such as Unisys Computing and the New Zealand Defence Force.

His expertise will contribute to our subsidiary company, Advanced Insurance Technologies Pty Ltd (“AIT”), which is holding intellectual property in online insurance to be delivered to our joint venture partner servicing the Priority One Network Group Limited membership base. AIT is focused on the advancement of the online commoditised insurance products in the SME commercial insurance sector.

Keith Bowker
Company Secretary

Mr Bowker is currently a Director of Somerville Accountants and Somerville Corporate an independent corporate services and accounting firm. Prior to joining Insured Group Limited, Keith was a Manager at Ord Nexia and gaining experience within the corporate section.

He also gained tax knowledge during his time spent with Sygnum Financial Services and BKR Walker Wayland.

Keith has previously held the Company Secretary position with Millepede International Limited where he undertook the company secretarial duties for the overseas based materials company.

Keith has extensive experience in the corporate environment primarily within the mining and exploration, oil and gas and biotechnology sectors.
